I earned my bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Oklahoma and my graduate degree in radio/tv/film from the University of North Texas, and spent several years afterward writing everything from news releases and PSA scripts to print ads and executive presentations for a few companies. For a little while I somehow managed to teach international marketing and digital marketing at a Big 12 university. All this was excellent practice for writing for kids.
Now, I’m a part-time freelance copywriter, a full time mom and I spend every minute I can writing for kids. Throughout everything, I’m doing my best to follow Christ, but I’m super clumsy about it.
I’ll write here about marketing and middle grade, but mostly I’ll write about things that make me happy along the way.
Things that make me happy (abbreviated list):
- Cheese as a meal
- The smell of dirt
- Dancing (with or without music)
- Freshly laundered socks
- Breakfast for dinner
- My kid
- College football
I’m grateful you’ve read this far, and appreciate you going on this little journey with me.
